The Aborigines  In  the History of Albury

Albury  Aborigines
Albury  was  once  the  meeting  ground  for  Aborigines  thousands  of  years  ago.  Aborigines  called   Albury  Bungambrawatha  and  Mungababareena. Mungababareena  is  a  place  in  Albury  where  Aborigines  have  left  their  art.  These  are   some  places  that  Aborigines  named  near  Albury- Wodonga; Baranduda, Barnawartha, Bungowannah, Howlong, Jindera,  Thurgoona  and  Yackandandah.

Setting  The  Scene
In  Albury  along  the  Murray  River  the area  was  a natural habitat for  Kangaroos, Possums, emus  and  other  birds.  These, and fish from the river, provided a food source for the Aborigines.
