ALBURY'S  HISTORY  OF FAMOUS  FESTIVALS
WE  DO WANT  TO REMEMBER

The Albury L.O.T.E. festival

Each year, the city of Albury holds the annual L.O.T.E. Festival.  L.O.T.E stands for Languages Other Than English. In the past, the festival has been held in many different schools.  Also included each year is a Poster Competition.  In the year 1995, The L.O.T.E. Festival was started by The B.M.L.T.A ( The Border Modern Languages Teachers Association).  It was started to encourage other schools to participate in languages during school time.  Performances were held to show the public what children were learning in school and also to raise the awareness and appreciation of languages other than English.  For the last 5 years, the performances have been held at Albury High School, but this year, they were held at The Scots School.  For the past 2 years, Uncle Bens have generously sponsored the BMLTA, providing book vouchers for prizes.
