Welcome to the Ettamogah Pub

HISTORY OF THE ETTAMOGAH PUB
The famous Ettamogah Pub is situated about 15 km from Albury.  It  opened  in 1987.  It comes from  the White Horse Hotel , Parramatta, and was transferred to Albury at an enormous expense.

The Ettamogah Pub cost $550,000 and a model of the pub cost about $1500. They have also made many contests for people to have a holiday to Melbourne ,Sydney ,Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The Ettamogah Pub originated from  a comic strip that Ken Maynard has been writing since 1959.  In the cartoon, one of the central characters is a cockatoo wearing a pair of boots. They say it wears these boots because the corrugated  roof of the pub is too hot for its bare feet.

A 60 year old chev was placed on the top of the Ettamogah Pub to hide the air conditioner. The pub was made of mountain ash, an oak and two huge T plates of red gum. The bar was made from nearby trees found in the forest. The walls at the Ettamogah Pub slope about one metre out of line, but the building is still  very sturdy.
