Albury's Trout Farm
The Trout Farm took 11 years to be completed.  It opened in December, 1969.  The Trout Farm has some interesting sights to see, including albino & golden fish.  Some have yellow markings.  The Trout Farm has always been the size it is today.  The local fishermen didn't mind when the Trout Farm was being established, but a local neighbour complained because he didn't want to sell any of his land for the Trout Farm because he needed it for his cattle.  The Trout Farm was built in its specific location so that water from the Hume Weir can be gravity-fed to the Trout Farm.  This is the most simple method of getting water to the Farm.
The Trout Farm was built because Mr Douglas, the original owner, was a mad, keen fisherman, but he didn't like the hassle of waiting to catch them himself.  If he built the Trout Farm, he would never have to wait very long to catch a fish.   The Trout Farm was always designed to be a tourist attraction.  A few years ago, because of the heat, most of the fish died.  After that, the owners of the Trout Farm built deeper ponds for the trout, to keep the water temperatures cool enough for trout to survive in.

Albury's Trout Farm opened in December 1969.  In this time it has had six owners.
Over the years, many attractions have been established, e.g. "Man-made water fall", "Catch-Your-Own-Fish", "Touch-Pond" and much, much more.
