Politics of Albury
Politics are a very important part of Albury's
History. Albury has a local Council Government and there are quite a few
politicians living in and around Albury.

Albury has had Aldermen (Councilors)
since 1859.
The first Mayor in the 1900's was Mr John
Charles Chenery, also an auctioneer, agent, who became mayor in 1901.
