The first homes were tents, sent from England via Sydney.  Next, were slab huts with wood walls and bark roofs. Stone houses and shingled roofs were next. Then, brick or stone work with iron lattice became popular.

Newer Style House built in 2000.

St. Mathews Church
St. Mathews Church was built in 1857, with extentions in 1867 to 1873, after the fire which destroyed it.  It was made of granite. Churches are  important community structures.
